Big Dog Lacrosse is all about growing the sport and making sure kids are coached to succeed. With lacrosse being such a new sport to the area, coaching fundamentals must be taught just as much as the playing fundamentals. If we have dedicated people willing to coach our young players, everyone wins!
We will be offering a coaching clinic that will enable you to manage, coach, operate a successful program. We will take you from the basic X's and O's, all the way to program administration. The clinic will have classroom and field instruction so concepts can be visualized and practiced.
Session I: How to get started!
Session one is designed for new coaches and parents who want to get more involved with their players school team but not sure how to get started. We will cover the process of starting a program, learning the fundamentals, how to coach the fundamentals to be successful.
Session II: How do I coach?
Session two is designed for the coach or parent that knows how to manage a program and understands the fundamentals but wants to learn the next step of coaching the X's and O's. We will discuss practice plans, drills, pre-season workouts.
Session III: I'm almost ready for season to begin!
Session three is designed to get coaches ready for the season. We will cover game preparation, practice between games, game management, and any "in season" concepts. We will put together the X's and O's into a game plan that is easy to understand and implement.
